SCDN - FAQ
1. History
SCDN was co-founded in June 2010 by 3 founding members and started its MICROFINANCE LEBANON (MFL) operations in June 2021 after receiving a significant donation from a Lebanese immigrant following the August 4, 2020, Beirut Port massive blast. SCDN enjoys an overall clean bill of health, legally, financially, and operationally.
2. Governance for Sustainability
SCDN implements SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGIES across its projects, manages goal-setting and reporting processes, strengthens relations with external stakeholders, and ensures overall ACCOUNTABILITY.
3. Accountability
SCDN discloses its:
(a) Financial Statements annually to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
(b) Periodic Evaluations of its projects.
(c) Audit Reports.
4. Ethics
SCDN deals ETHICALLY with its Members, Donors, Volunteers, Beneficiaries, and Communities.
SCDN exists to SERVE the GREATER GOOD through:
(a) Honesty and Transparency, allowing its Members and Donors to analyze its Financial Statements and Audit Reports.
(b) Donor Privacy, protecting their personal information including providing a safe donation platform.
(c) Avoiding Conflicts of Interest since SCDN is committed with its Board Members, Executives, and Volunteers:
i. Not to operate according to large donors’ desires and agendas.
ii. Not to accept personal gifts.
